Framed Floor Vents Wall Install for All

Our Wall Vents are designed exclusively for walls and ceilings. Their "tray" (middle section) becomes flush to the surrounding drywall surface when installed. The Wall Vents vents trays do not have the ability to house finished surface material inside them (Fig.1).

What If I Want to Add Matching Surface Material?

Well, it all depends on the type of material. If heavy material (such as tile, vinyl, MDF cladding, brick, cement, wood planks, texture wall panels, cement board etc.) are secured to our Wall Vents they will cause issues. This is because the weight of the material will prevent the tray from fully locking into the body of the vent. In this case the vents tray would not be able to function as designed. Paint and wallpapers are better suited for our Wall Vents, as shown in Fig. 2 below.

My Walls Are Not Drywall & I Need The Insert to Match my Surface Material.

You're in luck! Our designated floor models - the Framed OG Floor Vent [Luxe] and Framed Floor Vent [Lite], are not one trick ponies. These models have been engineered for multi- functional purposes (as shown in Fig. 3). They work on walls and ceilings! With the added benefit of having an empty tray just waiting to be filled with a matching surface material.

How To Install on a Wall

Installing an Framed OG Floor Vent [Luxe] or an Framed Floor Vent [Lite] in your wall with materials other than drywall like tile, vinyl, MDF cladding, brick, wood planks, texture wall panels, or cement board is simple. All you need to do is:

Step 1) determine the size of the vent exit in your wall;

Step 2) insert matching wall material into the tray. Secure in tray with adhesive bonding glue;

Step 3) put your vent in place on the wall or ceiling surface;

Step 4) fasten the body of the vent to the substrate of the wall. There are 4 holes on the lateral sides of the body of the vent (see Fig. 4). Screw in diagonally to secure the body to the substrate behind the wall.

Fig. 4. The other two holes are in the exact same place on the other side of the body.

This video outlines how to secure matching floor material inside a tray.

The Framed OG Floor Vent [Luxe] & Framed Floor Vent [Lite] do not require additional drywall work. Since they're top-mounted they drop into any vent exit.
